We are looking to appoint a hardworking and reliable caretaker/cleaner to become part of our family at Nar Valley Federation of Church School Academies, based at Sporle Church of England Primary Academy on a temporary contract from January 2021 until August 31st 2021. The contract is temporary in the first instance but is likely to lead to a permanent opportunity.

Sporle Church of England Primary Academy is a small village primary school located a few miles outside of the town of Swaffham. The school consists of 3 mixed age classes and has just under 70 pupils on roll. Being a church school, Christian values and ethos sit at the heart of everything we do to create an environment where everyone is valued and respected and pupils are given every opportunity to shine. Sporle is part of The Nar Valley Federation of Church Academies, a family of three small Church of England primary schools and part of DNEAT (Diocese of Norwich Education and Academies Trust).

Sporle Primary Academy is looking to appoint a hardworking and reliable caretaker/cleaner to become part of our family. The successful candidate will be required to undertake a range of duties that include managing the health, safety and security of the site including the opening and locking up of the site at beginning and end of the school day, small repairs and general maintenance and complete compliance checks. In addition to this there will be the daily cleaning duties of all areas of the school including toilets, common areas and classroom. You will be ably assisted by our current cleaner.

The position is:
• 26 hours per week; term time plus three weeks during school holidays (please note that this will be a split shift and hours will be agreed on appointment)
• Temporary from January 2021 until August 31st 2021
• Salary Scale C (depending upon experience)
• Based at Sporle Primary Academy

• Demonstrates an understanding of caretaking responsibilities and cleaning schedules
• Has caretaking and cleaning experience
• Is hard working and reliable
• Works under their own initiative
• Is organised and methodical
• Is a team player
