Caretaker Required
Start date: As soon as possible

  • Salary – Scale C £9213 actual pa (£18562 FTE)
  • 12 month fixed term
  • Part Time
  • 20 hours per week (preferred times 7.15am – 9.15am and 4.00pm – 6.00pm)
  • Term time plus 4 weeks

The children, staff and governors of Thomas Bullock Primary School are looking for
a Caretaker to join our committed and hardworking team.

Some of the responsibilities of the role include:

  • To be responsible for the security of the premises and its contents, including
    the operation of fire and burglar alarms and undertaking key holder
    responsibilities, involving locking/unlocking entrances, checking and securing
    windows and internal doors, activating and switching off alarms systems etc.
  • To be available to answer emergencies outside of regular working hours and
    pre-planned lettings
  • Under the direction of the Headteacher and in accordance with the practices
    and procedures of the school to ensure that the school premises and contents
    are properly maintained and secured and ready for use.
  • To help keep the school clean and tidy and monitoring the work of cleaners by
    making regular inspections to check that the specification is being met in
    terms of frequency and quality of work
  • To be fully aware of and to comply with all departmental instructions and
    procedures relating to Health and Safety at Work and to recognise the
    responsibilities required under the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974

Thomas Bullock CE Primary Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting

successful applicant will be required to undertake relevant safeguarding checks in
line with the Government safer recruitment guidelines.

The post will come under the requirements of Childcare (Disqualification) 2009
Regulations and the successful applicant will be required to complete a declaration
form to establish whether they are disqualified under these regulations.
