We are looking to appoint a supportive and enthusiastic Midday Supervisory Assistant to join our team at Castle Acre Church of England Primary Academy.

Castle Acre is part of The Nar Valley Federation of Church Academies, a family of three small Church of England primary schools and part of DNEAT (Diocese of Norwich Education and Academies Trust).

Castle Acre is located a few miles outside of the town of Swaffham. We have 3 mixed age classes with just under 70 pupils on roll. Being church schools, Christian values and ethos sit at the heart of everything we do to create an environment where everyone is valued and respected and allows all the children to be the best that they can be and to ‘Let their light shine’.

The position is:

  • Permanent
  • Part time 6.25hrs per week ~ term time plus 1 week
  • Salary Scale A ~ full time (37hrs) equivalent salary of £17,842 pro rata to 6.25hrs per week
  • Daily hours 11.45 to 13.00hrs
  • To start as soon as possible
  • Role based at Castle Acre, but the position may require travel to all three sites on occasions.

The role requires the supervision of pupils in all areas of the school, including the dining, classroom and play areas as instructed by senior team members in order to ensure the safety, general welfare and good behaviour of pupils during the midday break period.

We are looking for someone who has/ is :

  • Flexible and able to build positive relationships with pupils
  • Empathy with children
  • Experience working with children in an educational or voluntary setting
  • Ability to exert authority and provide instruction in a confident manner
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations within a school environment and administer first aid when required
  • Communicates well with pupils and adults
  • Team player and can enable a team approach supporting pupils
  • Approachable, polite and professional
  • Willing to undertake training activities in order to further develop skills for the role
