The Governors, staff and children of Dickleburgh C of E Primary Academy are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to initially join our hard-working and outstanding team of early years professionals in our Pre-School.

This would be on a temporary full-time contract from January–July 2021 to cover maternity leave, and would include some breakfast and after school hours.
The contract would then change to a permanent contract, hours to be negotiated.
The successful candidate must have a minimum Level 2 Early Years qualification and a sound knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
They will be expected to take on key person responsibilities. Up-t0-date relevant training, for example paediatric first aid, would be an advantage.

Job Description
Responsible to: Headteacher
Responsible for: None
Purpose of the job: To work initially as a key person and as part of the Pre-school team under the direction of the Pre-School Leader to provide safe, high quality education and care for young children.
Main duties:
1. To assist with the planning of the curriculum.
2. To help set up the indoor and outdoor environment for the daily programme and to help tidy away at the end of the session.
3. To act as a key person to a group of children, liaising closely with parents/carers and ensuring each child’s needs are recognised and met.
4. To advise the Pre-School Leader of any concerns e.g. over children, parents or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary.
5. To teach children, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulation.
6. To attend staff meetings.
7. To attend in-service training courses and meetings as required.
8. To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff which is acquired as part of the job.
9. To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Pre-School Leader, in accordance with the Pre-School’s objectives.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria:
1. Willingness to learn.
2. CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Pre-School Practice, NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
3. Previous experience of working with young children.
4. Commitment to equal opportunities.
5. Commitment to young children and families.
6. Friendly, flexible approach.
7. Health clearance for the role.
Desirable Criteria:
1. Diploma in Pre-School Practice or NVQ Level 3.
